About the Festival:

The Atchafalaya Basin Festival is a fundraiser for Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, La and Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel in Butte La Rose, La. The festival began in 2007 and has always been a FREE event that is a celebration of community.  The event has raised money to help projects at the churches, including parking lot improvements, building maintenance and repairs. Following the threat of flood waters in July of 2010, the church held a Back to the Butte fundraiser to raise money for repairs to the Chapel in Butte La Rose. These events have been packed with fun activities for the whole family including Bingo, Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show, Cooking Contest, Queen's Pageant, Arts and Crafts, Street Fair and Carnivals, Fun Jumps, Rockwall Climbing, Face Painting and of course Awesome Cajun Musical Entertainers and much more.  The festival offers Posters, T-Shirts, Raffle Tickets, Live and Silent Auctions, and Great Food and Drinks on the day of the festival.  The annual festival is always held the second Saturday in November.

The Atchafalaya Basin Festival is a proud member of the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals and have been the recipient of numerous awards including New Event of the Year, Marketing Award, Poster of the Year, T-Shirt of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.  Our Festival Queen is eligible to compete in the LAFF Queen of Queens contest, with the winner moving on to compete for Miss Louisiana.

Your support is very much appreciated.
